책 소개
The recent development of three dimensional (3D) virtual technology and Cone Beam Computer Tomography has improved many aspects of diagnosing and treatment planning in orthodontics. Combining these technologies permits prediction of the optimal alignment for each patient based on their presenting occlusion, bony limits and aesthetic needs.Production of brackets with customized prescriptions and positions as well as customized arch wires based on the optimal predicted alignment is now possible using Ormco’s INSIGNIA system. However, as with all digital systems INSIGNIA requires the orthodontist to be thoughtful and diligent in all aspects of design when using the approver software for each INSIGNIA design. The benefits are many for both the doctor and patient. The patient treated by a thoughtful orthodontist who has mastered the intricacies of the INSIGNIA system will receive an ideal smile and occlusion with the roots contained within the bony limits of the jaws. The treatment time will usually be several months less and with fewer appointments than is possible with standard (non-customized) fixed appliance treatment.Since the first Insignia guidebook (Effective use of the Insignia orthodontic system: A to Z, Baek SH, Kim KD, Smith A, and Ko D, Yenang Inc., Seoul, Korea, Korean edition) was published in 2016, there has been a continual evolution of the concept with changes in the techniques used with the Insignia system. Therefore, it is a great pleasure for us to publish the first English edition of these updated concepts including several new cases. This book consists of three parts: Introduction, Case examples, and Conclusion.
