I N T R O Keimyung Global Citizenship program consists of students’ experiences and activities which are distinct from regular classes and lectures. - The ‘Keimyung Global Citizen Program’ corresponds with our university’s aim of education (to inspire the development of the whole person) and its objective of education (fosterage of creative specialists, ethical intellectuals, and holistic leaders). Especially, ‘The Shining of the Light’, the image of Keimyung, acts as a symbolic mechanism throughout the program. - The ‘Keimyung Global Citizen Program’ consists of 3 levels: myself (‘Light shining on myself’), embracing others (‘Light shining on others’), and then proceeding to the world (‘Light shining on the world’). The majority of the program is allocated to the last stage, which matches the title of the program, ‘Global Citizen’. This program is ardently supported by Keimyung University which takes pride in its distinguished international infrastructure and human resources. - The ‘Keimyung Global Citizen Program’ is designed to maximize the effectiveness of the content while minimizing the demand on students’ time. In other words, the lessons from this education are stamped on the body through intimate meetings and activities. The bonds of intimacy between students and professors, and between students and students are the basis of the program. Furthermore, fostering international exchange with the nearly 1,000 foreign students who study at Keimyung University is also considered in this program’s aims. - In Korea, there are only a few experts in character education. This program has been described in as much detail as possible to ensure that it can be conducted by novice teachers who have only basic knowledge of these concepts. It can also be used in other schools and institutions with only minimal changes to the structure. - The ‘Keimyung Global Citizen Program’ is leaving the conclusion open in order to move forward to an intensifying stage. For example, recently, there is an intensive program (Character of Christianity) based on the soul of Christianity in Keimyung University and it runs an intensive program (healing of heart) on the basis of the oriental spirit.
