책 소개
Studies Series 09-04 전현준 외 The United States of America removed North Korea from its list of state sponsors of terrorism as of October 11, 2008. It was the result of more than 20 years of strife with North Korea. The DPRK used brinkmanship tactics in order to survive the pressure from the United States and the development of nuclear weapons were its key tool. Internally, North Korea consolidated its regime through “Military-first Politics.” From a broader perspective, the survival strategy of North Korea seems to have been successful so far. The purpose of this research is to illustrate the survival strategy of North Korea since the launch of the Kim Jong-il regime in 1998 and to forecast its direction in the future.
