abstract A Comprehensive Study on China in Preparation for Unification With the rise of China and the changes in strategic environment both globally and regionally, the importance of study on China cannot be overemphasized. It is critical to establish a comprhensive strategy toward China in cases of regime change or any other dramatic instances in North Korea since China is believed to be the country that has the greatest influence on North Korea. Given this necessity, this study aims to provide necessary analysis on China's domestic politics and international relations, and therefore, to establish comprehensive strategy toward China. The first part deals with China's domestic politics and the recent leadership change. In this part the authors examine the current problems associated with domestic politics and leadership change of China and discuss their prospects. The second part is concerned with China's foreign relations and policies. Each chapter provides analysis on China's strategy toward its neighboring countries such as the US, Japan, North Korea, and small countries in Southeast Asia. The third part mostly deals with strategies and policies toward China of major neighboring countries including the US, Japan, Russia, Australia, Taiwan, and India.
