3 Stories: Strange Tales — Volume 2

책 소개

What would make you stay inside a dream? Love becomes obsession. A sleepless night turns into a battle with something far larger than a mosquito. A woman enters a dream she has no intention of leaving. Dark Reveries brings together three Korean short stories that move through psychological suspense, surreal satire, and the bittersweet territory of memory and loss. THE BUTTERFLY DANCE — Jabi Kim A young man believes a mysterious dance can make someone fall in love with him. Beneath the moonlight, his longing takes a disturbing turn. WALTZING WITH MOSQUITOES — Joowook Kim Kept awake by an elusive mosquito, an artist wages war in his apartment. His thoughts circle through private frustrations and public injustices, while a painting of a two-headed mosquito begins to seem uncannily alive. THE BUTTERFLY DISEASE — Hyeonji Lee A butterfly-shaped shadow brings beautiful dreams from which some sleepers never wake. Hyeseung chooses to remain in hers, accompanied by a man who seems to know what she has forgotten. By turns unsettling, darkly funny, and tender, these stories follow people caught in desires they cannot easily escape—and dreams they cannot bear to lose. Three complete stories in English. Translation by K.H. Yoo. Published by Nabiwabook. Volume 3 of the 3 Stories anthology series. Each volume can be read independently.
