3 stories - Dark Reveries — Volume 3

책 소개

What would make you stay inside a dream? A lonely man seeks a dance that promises love. An artist hunts a mosquito through a sleepless night. A woman enters a beautiful dream she has no intention of leaving. Dark Reveries brings together three Korean short stories of obsession, troubled reality, and love that persists through fading memory. THE BUTTERFLY DANCE — Jabi Kim Convinced that a mysterious dance can win a woman’s heart, a young man prepares to confess his love. Under the moonlight, longing takes a dangerous turn. WALTZING WITH MOSQUITOES — Joowook Kim An elusive mosquito keeps an artist awake, stirring thoughts of marriage, art, and political injustice. Nearby, his painting of a red-and-blue, two-headed mosquito seems increasingly alive. A sleepless battle becomes a darkly comic portrait of frustration and defiance. THE BUTTERFLY DISEASE — Hyeonji Lee A butterfly-shaped shadow brings wonderful dreams—and some sleepers never wake. Hyeseung chooses to remain in hers with a man who appears whenever she dreams. As the shadow closes in, their journey leads toward a love she can no longer clearly remember. By turns unsettling, satirical, and tender, this collection explores the desires that take hold of us and the memories we struggle to keep. For readers drawn to psychological suspense, surreal fiction, and bittersweet fantasy. Three complete stories in English. Translation by K.H. Yoo. Published by Nabiwabook. Volume 3 of the 3 Stories anthology series. Each volume can be read independently.
