Korean Photo Essay Collection VI — Palaces II: Echoes in Seasonal Light brings together Essays 16–17 of Season I (01–30) of The Korean Photo Essay Archive, continuing the long-term project that gathers 90 photo essays into 30 collected volumes. The series records Korea's principal historical and cultural spaces through paired photography and prose, systematically accumulating the changing face of place across the passage of time. This volume is organized around the theme of "palaces and seasonal light," centered on Changgyeonggung Palace and Deoksugung Palace. The essay on Changgyeonggung Palace records the depth of light through a palace landscape where sunlight and shadow cross, while the essay on Deoksugung Palace reveals the accumulated, ordinary time held within a palace, through the people who pass between spring and autumn. Each essay stands independently, centered on a single place, in the paired photograph-and-text form that defines the series. This structure secures both the completeness of each individual record and the extensibility of the series as a whole; this volume adds a new layer of season and light to the archive's first record of Korea's palaces.
