책 소개
“Hunminjeongeum Haerye” is Korea’s 70th national treasure, registered in UNESCO in 1997 as a World Record Heritage. Since the original text is written in Chinese, many scholars and educators have produced Korean translations to facilitate a better understanding of its contents. Despite these numerous studies, “Hunminjeongeum Haerye” remains difficult to interpret in depth. One major reason is the lack of sufficient visual data that could support comprehension of its linguistic and phonetic principles. Although a few textbooks and picture books include illustrations, these images tend to merely depict the positions of articulation, offering limited engagement or interpretive depth. To address this limitation, the present book reinterprets “Hunminjeongeum Haerye” through abstract illustrations designed to visualize and connote multiple layers of meaning, thereby encouraging readers to approach the text with renewed interest.
