한국전쟁 존전 70주년을 맞아 대한민국해양연맹은 한국전쟁 참전용사 수기집, 제2권 (미국, 2)을 내 놓는다. 17-19살에 한국전쟁에 참여하게 된 젊은 병사는 에제 90세를 넘긴 할아버지가 되었다. 우리 역사에서 지울 수 없고 그들의 증언 없이는 남길 수도 없었던 이야기들이 담겨있다. 어린 병사들의 헌신에 감사하며 이 고마움을 기억해야겠다. 또한 그동안 이 모진 고통을 안고 살아왔을 그들의 상처가 이책을 통해서 치유되길 바란다. 이 사업을 후원해 주신 흥아해운 관계자 분들께 깊이 감사를 드린다.
