책 소개
프롤로그 2019년 10월부터 추진되었던 서유럽 음식문화 여행이 늦어도 2020년 03월 중으로는 실현될 수 있을 것으로 짐작됐으나, 한두 가지 다른 이유도 관계가 되긴 했으나 근본적으로는 2020년 02월에 예상치 못한 COVID-19가 갑자기 나타나는 바람에 이 계획이 무산되고 말았다. 내가 그 여인을 프랑스 파리에서 만나 서유럽 음식문화 여행에 동행하기로 한 계획이 무산됨으로써 그 여인을 만날 수 있는 다른 방법을 찾을 수밖에 없는 상황이 된 것이다. 그래서 나의 서유럽 음식문화 여행은 사실상 포기하고 그 여인에게 2020년 04월 30일 당신이 직접 한국으로 들어오시오! 라는 마치 최후통첩 같은 EMF 편지를 내가 띄우고 말았다. 그 이후로 수십 통의 EMF 편지가 그 여인으로부터 내게로 와 있다는 사실은 알고 있었지만, 나는 막상 그 여인에게서 온 EMF 편지를 열어볼 엄두조차 내지 못하고 약 2달간의 시간이 흐르고 말았다. 2020년 06월 24일 전격적으로 내가 그 여인에게 편지를 재개함으로써, 다시 어떻게 하면 최대한 서로가 빨리 만날 수 있을까를 기대하면서... 이 예상치 못한 코로나바이러스가 온 세상을 뒤흔들면서 가로막고 있는 한치의 앞도 예상하기 어려운 시대 상황에도 불구하고, 필연적으로 만나서 함께 달콤하게 살아가야 할 두 연인 사이에 오고 가는 절절한 차원이 다른 찐한 수백 통이 훨씬 넘는 영혼으로 사랑하는 대서사시를 편지라는 형식으로 소통한 글들의 모음이다. 유럽지역은 2차 팬데믹(Pandemic) 현상이 지난 3월보다 더 무서운 속도로 진행 중인 상황인데, 이 두 연인은 결국 최종적으로 언제 어디에서 어떻게 만나게 될지? 한치의 앞날도 예상할 수 없는 그 시간 사이사이의 과정과 절절한 그리움의 흐름이 마치 영화에서 보는 것처럼 애절하게 그려지고 있다. 2022년 초에는 우리 한국으로 Irina 가 들어올 수 있을 것으로 기대하고 준비를 진행하고 있던 차에 설상가상으로 그녀는 코로나19 바이러스에 감염되었다. 그러나 코로나바이러스 감염증 상태에서 건강을 정상으로 회복해가는 과정 중이었는데 또 예상하지 못한 지난 02월 24일 러시아의 우크라이나 침공으로, 이 여인은 자기 마음대로 사회적 활동하거나 움직일 수도 없는 상황이 되고 말았다. 그러나 불행 중 다행으로 인터넷은 연결이 되어있어서, 여러 가지 전쟁 상황이나 그녀의 생존현장 주변의 소식은 주고받을 수 있는 상황을 그나마 매우 다행스럽게 여기는 절박한 현실이 되었는데도 불구하고, 이 상황을 어떻게 헤쳐나가게 되는지와 이런 절박한 상황에도 어떤 방식으로 사랑을 이어가는지 절절하게 편지로 그려지고 있다. 2020 10 15, 2021 05 26, 2022 03 30 수정 저자 바다의 전설 우병호 PrologueIt was assumed that the Western European food and culture trip, which had been promoted since October 2019, could be realized no later than in March 2020, but one or two other reasons were related, but fundamentally, the plan was canceled due to the unexpected emergence of COVID-19 in February 2020.The failure of my plan to meet her in Paris, France, and accompany her on a Western European food and culture trip has forced me to find other ways to meet her.
