책 소개

Advancing data-driven science approaches and their translation to clinical care for individuals and their communities will ensure that the health of women and well-being of all people is grounded in current scientific knowledge. Research on the health of women is currently at the forefront of current national discussions. In November 2023, the White House announced the White House Initiative on Women’s Health Research, which is jointly spearheaded by the Office of the First Lady and the White House Gender Policy Council closely aligns with NIH and the NIH Office of Research on Women’s Health’s priorities. To ensure all women receive evidence-based disease prevention and treatment tailored to their unique needs and circumstances, this presentation will discuss the importance of women’s health research across the life course that fosters health equity, collaborative science, and harnesses emerging technology and sciences for biomedical discoveries. Multi-and interdisciplinary approaches to address how internal and external factors influence the health of women using a whole-person approach, sex and gender influences should be integrated throughout the biomedical research enterprise, and all women in scientific careers should reach their full potential will be discussed.
